History of Amrec
Adaptive Model for Research and Empowerment in Communities (AMREC) was registered in Kenya as a non-profit organization in the year 2022. However, AMREC previously existed as a private company from the year 2015 and has been offering mentorship to university graduates in the area of research and undertaking many community empowerment activities including HIV/AIDS Mitigation, Covid-19 Mitigation, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Mental Health Awareness and Gender Based Violence mitigation.
AMREC Aims at contribution to the empowerment of communities through the implementation of research driven interviews. We believe in implementation of high impact evidence-based interventions that are key in transforming lives and livelihoods.
We work in 5 counties in Kenya namely Turkana, Isiolo, Kisumu, Homabay, Siaya, Nairobi and Uasin Gishu The organization is led by a Board of Trustees comprising of persons of great repute and integrity who drive the policy and strategy of the organization.

Vincent Were
Lead Consultant Research & InformaticsHe is an experienced Data scientist specialized in health Economics, statistics, mathematical modelling , health systems and policy research, Epidemiology, mentorship, computing, resaerch, scientific writing and publications. He has a PhD in Health Economics from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine-United Kingdom. He has experience in mathematical modeling for Epidemiology and Control of Infectious diseases from Imperial College United Kingdom, Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Harvard University School of Public health, USA.
Michael Ochieng
Managing Director and Consultant in Research, Training and Evaluation.He is a Monitoring and Evaluation specialist with vast experience in the field of Project Planning, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation. He has over eight years experience in the field of Project Design, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in developmentand humanitarian organizations and has previously worked at USAID-AMPATH, African Development and Emergency Organization (ADEO), the KenyaRed Cross Society and the International Rescue Committee..
Nabie Bayoh
Lead Consultant for Entomology and Operational ResearchHe is the lead consultant for Entomology and Operational Research. He is public health specialist with training in tropical disease and medical entomology, and more than 15 years experience in public health, vector control, vector surveillance, monitoring and evaluation of vector control tools and malaria operational research in Africa.
